Chumbawamba week!

Running

The most fitting lyrics from Chumbawamba's song, Tubthumping,
for me this week are 'I get knocked down, but I get up again"!

I started the week looking like this:

and ended it looking like this:

There's nothing more frustrating to a runner than getting an injury, although it is inevitable from time to time! Things had been going well, I'd been picking up pace, had signed up for a second claim club and was looking forward to my first cross country race and I, rather boringly, injured myself walking to town. Just walking. Nothing exciting.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  Just.  Walking.  Grrrrr!

So I rested.  For a week, hoping this would work.  Luckily, it did and I was able to do my first cross country with my second claim today!!  My first cross country of the season :) It was very muddy in places, but I absolutely loved every minute of it :)  And, as for the injury.....it niggled a little bit on yesterday's and today's runs, but I can't believe how quickly it seems to have healed.  Fingers crossed!  I'm a happy Yorkshire Runner Girl again :D

Feeling festive

I'm not the most festive person and usually get the Christmas bug late.  I have felt festive much sooner this year and donned the following attire on Friday when it was Christmas jumper day:

Earrings!  Woohoo!  I think they're really cute and were a perfect alternative to the Christmas jumper I was never able to get in time :)

Another thing making me feel festive more quickly is the Christmas parties I've been to!  It's been great to meet up with people from different settings in my life and get to chat with them socially! I'm really looking forward to catching up with friends over the Christmas break too!  We are usually so busy during the year, but I always make an extra special effort to meet up with as many friends and family as possible over Christmas :)

Photographs

Adding photos to this blog seems so easy!  I can't believe I didn't do this last time!

Well, that's enough from me.  Happy Sunday folks!
